Promote an Album

The International Journal of Music is a site for professionals, making it the best place to make your album or musical project known to a specialized, non-mainstream audience.

Options

We offer three ways to promote an artist’s album or musical project: press release, review, and interview.

Whatever option you choose, the article will be published within the instrumental specialty or specialties of your choice. For example, if it’s about a flute album, it will be published within the flute specialty. However, if you prefer, it can be published within all the wind specialties or within all the specialties of the International Journal of Music.

Once the article is published, it will also be

  1. listed on our Facebook page,
  2. posted on our Instagram account,
  3. tweeted on our Twitter profile, and
  4. sent to our 11,000+ subscribers in our next newsletter (no date determined).

Details are below.

Press Release

We will publish a press release sent by you.

Review

After listening to the album or learning about the artist’s project, one of our authors will write a 600+ word review. The review will then be proofread by one of our editors and published after your approval.

Interview

One of our authors will interview the artist. The interview will mainly focus on the project but will also cover the artist’s musical career and other issues.

The transcript will be reviewed by one of our editors and published after your approval. The full interview will be published only on the International Journal of Music’s standard membership-based access. However, the excerpt related to the project will also be published in open access.
