  • 1969: Born in Mainz, Germany.
  • 1987: Principal Double Bass of the WDR Symphony Orchestra Cologne, Germany (until 2002).
  • 1991: Started her masters’ with Günter Klaus at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, Germany (graduating in 1993) and founded the Frankfurt Double Bass Quartet with Ute Grewel, Hedwig Matros, and Ilka Emmert.
  • 1995: Debut album with the Frankfurt Double Bass Quartet, Quattro contra Bassi (MD&G). After graduate studies with Franco Petracchi at the Conservatoire de musique de Genève, Switzerland, she was awarded the 1er Prix de Virtuosité.
  • 1998: Joined the faculty of the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, Germany (until 2000).
  • 2000: Joined the faculty of the Robert Schumann School of Music in Düsseldorf, Germany (until 2004).
  • 2002: Professor of Double Bass at the Mozarteum University Salzburg, Austria.
  • 2003: Debut album of the Duo Piasso with pianist Barbara Nußbaum, Bassa Nova (Ambitus), featuring mezzo-soprano Claudia Nüsse.
  • 2005: Debut solo album, Contrabajisimo (Ambitus), with Barbara Nußbaum, violinist Winfried Rademacher, and the Mozarteum Salzburg Wind Orchestra / Hansjörg Angerer.
  • 2009: Released the album World Wide Bass (Ambitus) with Barbara Nußbaum, featuring Glen Moore, Andreas Hinterseher, and Dietmar Lowka.
  • 2011: Released the album Bass Art — Christine Hoock and Friends (Uni Mozarteum Records).
  • 2013: Released the album Le Phénix (Neos), with double bassists Thomas Martin and Stephan Bauer, harpsichordist Florian Birsak, and pianist Barbara Nußbaum. Besides, she was featured on the album Gloria Coates: At Midnight (Tzadik Records) by the Cambridge University Orchestra / Neil Thomson in Coates’ Silver Eyed Soul.
  • 2014: Honorary Guest Professor at the China Conservatory of Music in Beijing. She was featured on the album Thinking of… Stefano Scodanibbio (Wergo), an international collaborative project between eleven renowned double bassists dedicated to Stefano Scodanibbio.
  • 2016: Named President of the International Johann Matthias Sperger Society for Double Bass. She was featured on Madrigali — Vocal Music by Max Beckschäfer (Genuin).
  • 2017: Released Mozarteum Double Bass Sound (Uni Mozarteum Records). She was named Artistic Director of the International Rhodius Academy for Double Bass at the Schloss Burg Namedy in Andernach, Germany.
  • 2020: Released the album Space:Bass (Hybrid Records) with Umberto Echo on electronics and programming.
  • 2021: Special Recognition Award for Solo Performance by the International Society of Bassists.
