LP classics reborn as Spectacular CD’s, Ralph Pyle played with Los Angeles Philharmonic, his rich warn tone on the horn is a pleasure to listen to… Pyles luxuriously rich tones are on full display in long, lyrical lines… This is a great opportunity to hear legendary brass players many people today have not heard, especially students. The trumpet runs by Mario Guarneri are fantastic. The recording quality is excellent; all parts are clear and present.

Though the music of this CD is modern and contemporary-sounding, it is a thoroughly worthwhile listen, especially the concertinos for harp and piano. If it were a concert, we would all want to stand in ovation.
