Jeffery Wilson—whom we already had the pleasure of interviewing in Sax Magazine—has released the book World Tour, a compilation of 22 original easy-medium level songs (funny saxophone sheet music), including a CD with backing tracks.

It is a musical journey around the world, as each of these 22 songs is inspired by the traditional music of a different country. The titles are as follows:

  • Calypso Jo
  • Spiritual
  • Ländler
  • Wil-Jig
  • Java Gamelan
  • Czardas
  • Hoe-Down
  • African Market Place
  • Just a Reel
  • Tangente de Amor
  • The Wedding
  • Pan Pipes à Peru
  • In the Harem
  • Folk Melody
  • Polonaise
  • Saba
  • Southern Sax
  • The Frozen North
  • Samba Brazil
  • Flamenco
  • Tarantella Puglia
  • Salsa Cuba

Jeffery Wilson himself has submitted this video where you can see him playing his Czardas:

Jeffery Wilson studied at the Royal College of Music, and among his teachers are John Lambert, Herbert Howells, Gordon Jacob, Aladar Majorossy, and Olivier Messiaen. He has composed music for symphony orchestra, chamber, jazz, didactic, and even the opera The Way to Glory. He is currently the Composition coordinator at Junior Guildhall, Saxophone and Clarinet tutor at the Colchester Institute, and supervisor for the Cambridge University Music faculty.
