Below is the letter that Nelson Goerner sent to us about the non-profit association Ammala to support Tibetan nomadic peoples:
Ammala was born from the initiative and solidarity of Maurin Lavergnat, its devoted president, and a small group of people fighting together to bring help and hope to the Tibetan nomadic people.
On top of the painful experience of a long exile, these populations living in the harsh climate of the Himalayas face conditions of extreme poverty.
Ammala implemented a program of children’s schooling during the winter season. The pandemic did not stop the teachers, who traveled and visited the children and their families one by one.
The Association regularly brings new tents to the families and provides food for people and animals and primary need products.
In 2019 I had the joy of seeing with my own eyes these wonderful people, their generous hospitality, their smile… A truly unforgettable experience.
It is a privilege for me to be part of Ammala. Should I be able, through the loving force of music, to help our friends in need, I would feel immensely rewarded.
