Ida Holm Olaussen: “Anything You Do That Makes Your Life Better Makes You a Better Horn Player”

Abstract:

This interview delves into the life and experiences of Ida Holm Olaussen, a talented horn player and the newly appointed principal horn of the Arctic Philharmonic Orchestra. Conducted against the backdrop of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Olaussen shares insights into her musical journey, from growing up in the northern town of Alta to her recent move to Bodø. Olaussen discusses the unique structure of the Arctic Philharmonic, its diverse repertoire, and the inspiring collaborations with artistic directors such as Henning Kraggerud.
